Children may join the school at any age but not younger than 2½ years.

Ballet classes follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabi which are set according to age and ability. Generally speaking children take one exam a year and therefore move up the Grade system from 1 – 8. After Grade 5 it is possible to follow the more vocational route via Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced 1 & 2.

Children in these classes follow the RAD syllabus. Founded in 1920 the RAD has come to represent the very highest standard in the teaching of classical ballet. It has also grown to become the largest and most influential examining body for classical ballet in the world, operating in over 50 countries. Every teacher of ballet in the school has a teaching certificate from the RAD.

A School Show is held every year open to the public and prizes are given to pupils that teachers have nominated during the year.
